Bizarre clumps of worms form in road after Texas flooding

That's not spaghetti in the road. Balls of worms appeared in the road in Eisenhower State Park in northeast Texas on May 29 after recent flooding and heavy rain.

In this video, a park ranger can be seen poking one of the worm balls. Photos show the herds lining up straight along a road. ABC News reported that the worms were in the road for two days before they returned to the soil.

Authorities told ABC News there are two theories on why the worms herded.

The first is that the ground was over-saturated due to the flooding and heavy rains so the worms sought dryer ground. The second is that the rain sounded like predators. There is no explanation as to why the herds were in a straight line, though.
